Sonardyne is a regular Design and Build-to-Print client
of CGC Technology. Sonardyne supply underwater
sonar systems for military and commercial marine
clients.
As part of their R&D program they required a sound-dead or anechoic chamber for submersion tests. Sonardyne contracted CGC to provide a complete solution.
In order to deliver a cost effective project, CGC designed a novel approach that allowed the chamber be to constructed simply with tile modules. Each "tile" was built from 20 CNC milled wedges. The material was chosen for its acoustic properties.
