CGC Technology were commissioned by McLaren
Automotive to design, build and install a vacuum forming production line for the manufacture of a limited run high end carbon-fibre composite sports car. The line was used in the forming of the aero-dynamic body and door panels.
The line is fully automated and was designed, built and delivered within 7 months of order. The technical challenges of this project were related to the scale of the line and the rapid processing time needed for the forming beds. After the first line was installed and proven a second was commissioned soon after.
