CGC Technology

Dr. Mark Gardner founded CGC in 1985, soon after gaining his doctorate in engineering from the University of Oxford. CG Consultants, as it was known, provided a new approach to industrial prototype design utilising state-of-the-art 3D modelling and CAD systems together with a commitment to using emerging manufacturing techniques and new materials.

CGC Technology Ltd. was incorporated in 1996. In 2000 CGC relocated machinery and personnel from the manufacturing capability to form SMP Ltd. SMP is an autonomous custom engineering and fabrication business unit which now occupies its own 12,000 sqft manufacturing facility.

In 2004 CGC Technology acquired the communications IPR to compliment a novel satellite-tracking antenna system developed internally. This enabled the realisation of fully functional ground station for low earth satellites. In 2008 CGC-Space was set up as a separate business unit and in 2009 CGC were awarded the Queens award for Enterprise for this activity.

Our customers include Cobham, QinetiQ, MOD, AWE Aldermaston, McLaren Automotive, Polar Seal, Sonardyne, Rolls Royce Aerospace, Eaton and SAAB Aerospace.
